Colour
Contrast ratios and not relying on colour alone. 2 automated checks Websight runs, each with a live example and a fix you can copy.
Text must have enough contrast with its background
color-contrastText needs enough difference in brightness from its background to be readable by people with low vision, or by anyone on a dim screen. For normal text the ratio must be at least 4.5 to 1. For large text (about 24px, or 19px bold) it must be at least 3 to 1. Pale grey on white, and white on a light brand blue, usually fail.Links in body text must not rely on colour alonelink-in-text-blockWhen a link sits inside a paragraph, colour is often the only thing that marks it out. Someone who cannot tell that colour from the text colour sees ordinary words and never finds the link. Underline links in body text, or give them some other visible difference that does not depend on colour.Who these pages are for: the developer or site owner who has a scan result in front of them and wants to understand it, test it and fix it without a training course.
